The brief
This brief was inspired by the recent developments of the modern working structure that were implemented due to the Coronavirus disease that meant more people began to work from home/out of office. These changes meant that public were forced into working environments that most were unfamiliar with, leading to an increase in mental health and wellbeing struggles throughout the country.
The aim of this project was to design a product that would improve the users work experience and further develop their ability to work at home or nomadically.
Concept Journey
The first step for me was highlighting all the key problems with the working from home/nomadic lifestyle. Then from there I looked at what problems I felt most inspired to try and improve…
After some further research I decided that work depression seemed to be an idea that not many products were designed to help with. With the more ‘lonely’ style of working this became a much bigger issue with the boundary between personal and professional life slowly fading away.
There has been a recent increase in mental health based charities and companies, with the likes of Headspace and Calm to name a few having a plethora of content on websites and apps to help customers with their mental wellbeing. My concept began at this stage and the simple idea of how do I create a ‘workstation’ for all this mindful content. My journey can be seen below…

At the beginning of your day you can sit down and input the necessary work that has to be done, then the break planner will suggest and recommend the breaks that you may want to be working at your optimum level.
